So I think I am officially petrified that I will not grow as an artist. That I will always be the chick who just copies an image.. or paints over it. Yea, granted it is great when you are learning in the beginning.. but it shouldn't be the crutch that keeps me there. I will not improve doing that.

For instance.. Today, I figured, hell, Im going to paint and try to be daring and not have a reference picture out. I honestly DID try for quite a long time. But soon became frustrated with it in general and then whipped out the ref pic and painted over it. Now granted, I changed A LOT from the original photo, but still, I had to have it there as the crutch. I absolutely DESPISE this with myself. The imagination muscle in my noggin is now a lump of fat from what it used to be and will continue to whither away to nothing.
